Einstein School Full Scholarship Recipient
Nick Mansour is an Einstein graduate and one of the first recipients of an Einstein School Full Scholarship. Nick came to Einstein from a difficult situation, with needs not being met by the public school system. Nick was disillusioned and miserable, but we could see he also wanted something better for himself and was extremely hardworking, so we took a chance and admitted Nick to Einstein on a full scholarship.
The change in Nick was dramatic. Our teachers worked with Nick to begin filling in his educational gaps. Although we were understanding about his circumstances, we refused to believe he would be anything but successful, and Nick began to believe it too. He began to reconnect with the part of himself that found excitement in learning and began to take pride in his work and excel as a student.
His tenacity and hard work paid off. Nick graduated near the top of his Einstein class and following graduation, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. On a recent surprise visit, Nick thanked Jan, our founder, for being “one of the only people that ever believed in me” and for changing his life by providing him a scholarship. Nick found a family at the Einstein School and with his fellow Marines, and he has found purpose and meaning. We are so impressed by Nick, and we continue to follow his progress with immense pride and affection.
