Why did you decide to choose the Einstein School for your child’s education?
Top Themes: Small classes, flexibility, individualized attention, tailored education to the student, “credo”, and personnel
- Had a bad experience with (PUBLIC) high school. They just weren’t meeting my daughter’s needs; they were pushing her academically but not helping her or giving her tools to do so
- Tailored classes to ability, social inclusion for all students
- love the flexible classes and small classrooms and open-minded teaching options.
- Flexible scheduling. Smaller classes. Ability to take classes at whatever level he is, not strictly by what grade he is in
- Small, nurturing, meeting students where they are to encourage them and help them keep moving forward, creative environment.
- Personalized instruction, flexible scheduling, small class size
- Teacher to student ratio, emphasis on academics
- Class level individualization – student focused – small class size – good understanding of 2E
- Attempt to control bullying and adjusting to her academic levels.
- We chose Einstein for the flexible scheduling, teacher support helping students with their confidence, smaller classrooms and advocating for students with accommodations.
- Flexibility and a positive environment
- Jan, the small school environment, flexible scheduling and kindness of Jan and Talia whom we met initially. Also, a couple parents who stated Einstein’s makes you feel like your student is the only one there as staff goes out of their way and they do
- We absolutely chose The Einstein School based on the recommendation of another parent who had similar issues with public school. Coupled with what 2020- brought to children in a virtual learning environment which made our sons freshman year of high school the worst year he’d ever had in school. The Einstein School mantra “where curiosity survives a formal education” is not just in writing. They live and breathe the credo.
- Special attention to the needs and focus on what my son needed.
- Teacher to student ratio, my student was lost in the large ISD. Teachers get to know students, more flexible learning styles.
- We chose Einstein because it offered better educational opportunities targeted towards my child’s need to constantly be challenged and deeply learn in meaningful ways and not memorization for state testing mandates. The small class size also works much better for my child.
- The school seemed well suited for the needs of my child and has proven to be the best educational experience he’s experienced.
- Our daughter needed a more non-traditional environment (isn’t into sports/clubs) and needed to be challenged in subjects she was good at. Math teacher was horrible in 6th grade, and she just wasn’t thrilled about the school in general.
- Teaching was to be individualized and tailored to the students’ unique learning styles “The elective courses, the smaller classes, the acceptance of being yourself and no uniforms. “
What were your key goals for your child upon entering the school?
Top Themes: College Readiness/Prep, educational quality, flexible scheduling, attribute building (esteem, confidence, math, etc)
- That she have lots of support and more one on one time with teachers.
- Great education with healthy social development
- better writing and reading skills
- A quality education, where he could do coursework at his level, yet would still allow him to pursue his outside interests.
- Celebrate strengths, figure out how he learns best and prepare for college.
- Learn in a less stressful situation to prepare for college
- Individual attention, preparing for college
- Thrive in learning – College readiness – Small class size – depth in learning
- Improve self-esteem and college prep
- Our main goal for entering the school was to have a successful school year.
- Obtaining a good education while dealing with issues that required appointments outside of school.
- Get a good education and being able to take Collin college courses alongside Einstein’s and make sure any Accommodations would be given be it on SAT, ACT or in class if needed. Victoria is amazing by the way. She definitely goes beyond her duties.
- To learn to like school. Dare we dream that he’d love school? We didn’t. And we were pleasantly surprised as each day passed and he was up early ready to go to school. And often days when he could be dismissed at a regular hour. Asked to stay later to help or be a part of project/rehearsal where he was not required.
- Teach him on his level
- To gain confidence. Gain knowledge. Gain an education and develop a base to set up his future.
- Boosting confidence, learn some math skills, be accepted as is, not worry so much encourage problem solving skills
- The goal was to put my child in an environment that allows her to grow into her intelligence and refine her learning style in a supportive environment that allows her to flourish and achieve her highest potential.
- Education is designed to meet my son’s needs at his level.
- Boost her self-confidence. Give her the freedom to be herself (a bit introverted/anxious)
How were your key goals met? How did the Einstein School meet these needs?
Top Themes: Things are Better!
Education, Teachers, Learning, attitudes towards school
- Wonderful teachers and staff who truly care about your child and their success.
- Last year was really hard from the social side – we appreciated all the covid safeguards but it left the students feeling isolated despite being in person on campus
- (student) has improved, but still needs work
- Einstein has been flexible with courses, assignments, missed days. The expectation for him to do the work was always there, but the flexibility was key. Got even better for us, personally, with virtual school
- His confidence and willingness to share his thoughts in class have grown tremendously. He enjoys learning at Einstein. Haven’t had enough time to determine whether he’s being prepared for college well.
- ES provided what we wanted for our child.
- Both (students) have improved their performance and they seem comfortable with the school
- Mostly met. The fact that accommodations were built in allowed the learning to soar. Yet the contents taught could be deeper and more challenging and/or offer college level classes. It helped my son define himself and grow. He took initiatives and questioned whereas before he may not have. He felt safe and in a nurturing environment. He would have like more academic challenges especially in science and history.
- Appropriate level coursework and access to dual credit
- Our goals were met but there were a few bumps along the way. The year before last there were several students who were accepted to the school who were disruptive to the class and learning. Covid-19 interrupted the year. Finishing the year online actually helped take care of the distractions that some of the new students caused. This past year many of those students did not return and the year was so much better.
- Einstein has always made it possible to handle both.
- Perfectly. Your teachers are amazing!!! Armando, Andy, Anne and April all great. (student) has enjoyed and learned in all his classes.
- From the moment we spoke to Jan, weeks prior to our sons enrollment (in the middle of the school year) to just last week. It’s as if the school only has 1 child. Yours. What parent does not want to feel that way? When you very well know your child is not the only one. All our son’s teachers let us know how he was doing, helped him meet his own goals as well as ours. We knew he was capable of doing much better in school where he was not just another “cheeks in the seats”. His name, his face and his personality were allowed to shine. Teachers did not avoid calling on him. They saw his hand up and they appreciated and welcomed his unique input. A daily grade in each class is given for participation. Unheard of! Our son had the best year he’s ever had at school. He wanted to enroll for the following year before this year was even over. The environment as well as the engaged, knowledgeable and compassionate educators absolutely made it a very easy decision to have him continue his schooling at and in a place that is so accepting of children who need to be nurtured a bit and not just pushed through a system that does not meet their specific needs. Our son has the gift of dyslexia and a bit of an auditory processing disorder. And he’s found the perfect place that knows how to grow his educational experience
- The teachers figured him out enough to keep him interested & challenged. He also fell in love with ASL
- It was an excellent experience all around
- Yes, and still working on it. I’m very happy with teachers reaching out with concerns and /or praises of my student
- Yes. Einstein has always been very responsive to anything my child needs and even better my child feels supported and comfortable making those needs known to administration.
- The school has a very welcoming environment and encourages each kid to do their best. The teachers are excellent and the flexibility of in class and online has been a life saver.
- They worked with her and accepted her for who she was and didn’t treat her like a cookie cutter kid. Not all kids are created equal and shouldn’t be treated as such.
- I was looking for tailored learning that tapped into my son’s capabilities. This goal was not met. The curriculum and style is very similar to a public school setting, just on a smaller scale.
How has your child grown at Einstein? How did your family grow?
Top Themes: Independence, Confidence, Part of a Community, Self-Advocacy, Academic improvements, flexibility enabled less stress, more family time, improved mental and emotional health
- Yes! I have seen the most growth in our family. Brenna is so much more happy and just more herself and that makes for a happy family unit.
- He is excelling academically, gaining self-confidence, and developing good social relationships.
- he is more mature and confident. We are enjoying him enjoying learning.
- His confidence is back, he’s engaging and enjoying class again, he’s exploring his creativity more.
- She has become more outspoken in class and more relaxed at home.
- Both kids are doing better academically.
- My son became a young man. Gained confidence in himself and his abilities. My daughter is still figuring out who she is and struggling with self confidence. The school allows her to pursue her passion of robotics outside. Our family feels cared for and listened to. We trust the school to focus on the student and try their best.
- More confident
- Our student became an advocate for themselves which helped their maturity. Teaching our student to advocate for themselves and feel comfortable talking to teachers will help as they go off to college. Thanks to Einstein School having a family dinner became a regular part of our evening. Prior to being at Einstein our lives were racing around from tutors and athletics. Since Einstein we found time to be a family. Thank you!
- She has enjoyed her time at Einstein.
- He has been able to excel in his classes while learning. I loved when he would tell me interesting things he’s learned in his classes, especially in a economics and us history
- We all found out that school does not have to be difficult for our son. I wish we had found The Einstein School much sooner. We have all been able to take a bit of a breath and not stress as much as we did when he was enrolled in public school. Class size made an enormous difference for our so too. Even if he classes doubled the ratio of teacher to student can’t be beat. The Einstein School is not a private school factory. They care about each child. And in turn. Each child cares about their teacher. We also let our son “fly solo” this last semester. We let him take charge of all his classes. We did not look at his assignments or grades. He was responsible for everything. And he soared as high as possible finishing the year with practically straight A’s (one 89 —but we are beyond proud and he is too).
- When he first started at Einstein, he had so much anxiety that he would throw up in the morning, and he would wait in the car before going inside. Some days he would wait for only a couple days while on other days, we would wait for hours outside. He did not miss a day of school this year, which is the first time ever for any member of the family
- We have all grown much. Jan is our hero.
- I’ve definitely seen growth in confidence and independence in my child.
- My daughter has flourished into the brilliant individual we’ve always known her to be but she’s now driven and motivated to share that with the educational community at Einstein.
- My son has skipped 2 grades and loves his classes.
- She has gained confidence, found her voice when things aren’t going the way they should. Exceeded our expectations in high school level courses.
- COVID and remote learning has helped my child be more independent
