Board of Directors
Jan Van Blarcum, Ph.D.
In 1999, Jan Van Blarcum founded Creative Tutors. As an educator, Dr. Van Blarcum understood the importance of personalized attention in a child’s educational growth. Her passion for learning grew into a business endeavor that provided customized, one-on-one, in-home tutoring to children with a variety of learning needs. Every child received personalized attention from experienced educators.
A desire to provide these same quality services to children of all economic levels led Dr. Van Blarcum to establish Creative Learning 4 Kids that same year. Using the same tutor pool of professional educators working with Creative Tutors, Creative Learning was able to provide the highest quality services to economically disadvantaged or at-risk children. Through hard work and determination, Creative Learning has received its permanent 501(c)(3) status. This relatively young, non-profit charity is now positioned to serve many more children in need.
Dr. Van Blarcum’s passion to provide more and better services to the children of Plano and the surrounding area, led her to open The Einstein School in 2011. After seven years of steady growth and expansion, Jan’s vision is ready to once again expand to benefit even more children.
In 2018, Jan created The Einstein Foundation as the fund-raising arm of The Einstein School. There are three initial goals of the foundation. First, to raise the capital needed to build a state of the art, permanent home for The Einstein School. Second, to endow a scholarship fund for its college bound students. And, finally, to support the school with intermediate level projects designed to support the educational goals of the school.
