What is your favorite memory from your experience at the Einstein School?
Top Themes: Theatre Program, Events, Seeing Child happy, coming out of shell, Making Friends
- We had a short stint at einstein. So, for me I think it was the beginning. I loved seeing her so happy when we toured the school and also when she first visited for 2 days. Her eyes lit up.
- Seeing my son want to participate in school activities.
- selecting classes each year and learning
- It’s a new memory, but watching (student) give his presentation for his Independent Study project. Afterward he said, “At first, I was nervous but I quickly realized, they want me to do well, so then I was fine.” I can’t remember ever feeling that way about any school I went to.
- Seeing him eager to get out of the car each morning and smiling as he is picked up each day.
- ES players shows and ASL winter concert
- Loved watching (Student) confidence at the ASL Winter Concert.
- Seeing Eric going around in the morning with a dish of roasted potatoes he had made to share with the staff.9anonymous.
- Einstein had a night of ice skating. Watching all of the students laugh, smile and enjoy each other filled my heart with joy.
- We are new and my son is quieter but he enjoyed his classes and the students.
- Our favorite memory as parents was attending The Einstein School Players and seeing our son on stage. He loves to perform and sing. And although the cast had already been selected by the time he enrolled, he was taken into the fold as if he’d not missed 1 rehearsal. One of the characters he played, Shylock, in the Spring Musical of “Something Rotten” said it best “But what I really love…Is the Theater, I LOVE IT, l-Iove-it, I love it…”. It’s where Kam is 110% focused on the fun of performing. He loves “the roar of the crowds…my religion —is Theater”. Additionally. For us. The memories of a child that has absolutely detested school from basically 1st grade— that now looks forward to going to school. I’m not sure the summer will end soon enough. He may not feel the same. But I’m not dreading summer ending like we have in years past. Because we know he’s looking forward to a new year at an outstanding school.
- Seeing my son make friends.
- Watching him graduate
- The day students returned to in-person class. My child needs to be with others, even if it’s just a few others.
- Seeing my daughter on-stage at DCT finding her voice and not being afraid to share that with her theater friends and the audience.
- That my son is finally in a safe learning environment where he feels accepted and included and is constantly challenged.
- Seeing (student) in Something Rotten. We never imagined she’d have the confidence to follow through with it, but with the help of Lisa/Rachel, she did it and loved it enough to join theater in the fall!! YEAH!!
What do you think is different or special about the Einstein School versus the other options you had to educate your child?
Top Themes: Class Size, Willing to Say YES, Core Values, Meeting Needs, Caring about the individuals, Respect, Acceptance of Differences, Everything
- Kids all respect each other and their right to be different. There isn’t that fear that you have to fit into a mold. Teachers and staff are also unique and I love that!!
- There is flexibility on the academic side, and the relaxed atmosphere and core values are so different from other schools but are a perfect fit for my child
- open mindedness to child’s needs.
- I like the way Einstein tries to be creative while meeting kids’ educational needs and is open to outside ideas. You feel like the school is working with you.
- My son feels safe to be known at Einstein and y’all make learning fun.
- ES is very accepting and the math/science teachers are very knowledgeable and teach well at higher levels.
- Focus on individual and dedication to student success8anonymousThe flexibility and the school willingness to meet as much as possible the student’s needs. The non judge mental approach and thinking outside the line.
- Smaller class size. More tailored.
- The size of the classrooms allowed our student to feel comfortable asking questions in class. In the previous schools the size of the class was intimidating. Our student felt the banter and conversations in the classrooms was more influential in the learning process. The traditional teacher lecture does not engage the students which allows them to be semi-removed and detached or distracted. We appreciate that teachers were trying to get students to be entwined in the learning.
- The Understanding of each child’s needs.
- The flexibility, the small school environment, the willingness to work with us on anything…
- There’s not enough time or space to list the differences. And special does not begin to describe how fortunate we feel that a school like The Einstein School exists.
- Everything
- Care one receives. Attention that is given.
- Love & support the core values. I’m very happy that Staar testing is not required, my child is not a good at standardized or any other tests.
- My daughter is not a number to Einstein and the small class size lets her not only feel seen but to actually be seen and her education has been very customized to her strengths and abilities.
- This is a school for the gifted and provides a safe environment for all.
- She’s not just a number in a room full of 30 kids. She’s challenged with the curriculum. No fluff classes (PE, music – which were just boring for her in public school). She’d really like to do volleyball again!
- Class size is typically smaller.
What would you say to new Einstein parents?
Top Themes: It’s a great school, meets child’s needs, enroll here now!
- Do it!! I wish that I would have brought my daughter sooner!!
- Einstein is a great alternative to traditional education that doesn’t sacrifice the quality of the education.
- love the school and atmosphere
- If it’s a good fit for your child, then it can be a game changer!
- You have found a school where teachers and staff really care about each student and their needs.
- Excellent option if your child is not suited for public school
- I would encourage them to not be afraid to communicate openly with the school. They look out for the students. I would recommend also defining goals for high school and having twice yearly meetings to assess and evaluate. Teachers used to fill in forms for each student and I’ve kept them all. I thought they were most helpful and informative. I wish they’d bring it back.
- It is a great option if you have an out the box kid.
- Get involved. Encourage your student to get involved in the different organizations and participate in the many outside events that Einstein hosts. Take advantage of getting to know the staff and all of the educators at Einstein. All of the Einstein staff is there to be an advocate for your student and they do want to see your student succeed.
- Go for it. You will love the school.
- They won’t regret sending their child here it’s a great place!
- Beg, borrow and steal for an opportunity like this for your child. And feel very very fortunate that an education like this comes at a price that makes saying yes a lot easier.
- Trust the process
- Sit back, relax and enjoy the journey/ride. Jan and her staff know what they are doing
- Talk to Jan, tour the school,
- Do the trial day and talk to your student to understand how they experienced the day. My daughter knew immediately it was a good fit and knew that was where she belonged.
- Einstein is a fantastic school where a child is meant to thrive.
- That the school is all about the student/child. Teachers follow a curriculum, but are flexible based on the child’s needs. Kids have an opinion and a voice and are encouraged to speak up about anything they want.
- Although the class size is small don’t expect the teachers to change their techniques to your child’s needs.
